New brand identity for Liv Design

Summer's here! What better time of year is there to open the windows, kick of those sweaty shoes and roll out a new brand identity. Yes, we've rebranded (in case you hadn't noticed)…
Liv Design has finally had a much needed makeover.

The new full Liv Design lock-up

Out goes the old logo with the classic orange robot icon (our beloved LivBot…), and in comes a new, funkier, more modern logo. The new logo mixes bespoke lettering with an adapted form of the font Regulator to create a unique identity.

The old dark Pantone 7540 grey has been replaced with a stronger Pantone Cool Grey 10. This also allows for easier use of the other Cool Grey family palette to form a suite of matching shades. The fluorescent orange of Pantone 821 is also replaced with a more dynamic red (Pantone 179) which is easier to produce in CMYK and for online use.

Wave bye bye to Platelet and Jansen, and say hello to our new corporate font; Swiss. Swiss is a timeless font with a traditional graphic quality, ideal for everyday use with it's mix of weights allowing flexibility and diversity.

Since 2007 when Liv Design started there have been just three rebrands. The Liv Design logo itself ran virtually unchanged for 6 years.

There's now a more punchy brand ethos, or strapline if you will, too. It's simple, memorable and straight forward. Design. For. Life. It's what we do: it's how we operate. Simple. Honest. Creative. Broken down into three little words, split by a deliberate pause for you to take it in. Interpret it how you will. Design is for life, it lasts forever. We can't live in a world without design in one form or another, whether it's graphics, advertising, packaging, or product design. It surrounds us and engages with us 24/7.

And while we're on the subject of out with the old, it's now time to restructure how we use our Liv Design websites. This older blog has run for a while now. We don't want to delete it as a there are some quite useful and intriguing bits and pieces on here. There is, however, some overlap with our main website. As our main website has a blog style interface it makes sense to pool our resources into one site rather than running two sites that duplicate each other. What we're going to do is use this blog for great pieces of design and inspiring pieces rather than run articles and in-depth stories. Design news, features and articles will appear on our main Liv Design website.
