The green creative agency

Liv Design recognises the impact that it’s business makes on the climate and the environment. The print industry in particular used to be one of the worst for damage and pollution.

We believe in acting responsibly for the future welfare of the planet and it’s resources and will actively promote the use of environmentally friendly and cost-effective technology and methods. We are happy to advise clients on the best practices and cost-effectiveness subject to project requirements.

We have a strategy in place to:
• Minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible
• Minimise emissions through the selection and use of travel and the source of its power requirement
• Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst its customers and suppliers
• Source and promote suppliers and products to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution
• Meet or exceed all the relative environmental legislation
• Offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our activities
• Encourage awareness and implement new methods and technology
• Ensure the policy is endorsed and supported by all staff
• Monitor information on www.envirowise.gov.uk/uk

In addition to our written Environmental Policy we have a series of office initiatives that we have implemented including:
• Recommending the use of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved paperstocks, printers and suppliers where possible
• Recommending the use of recycled paper and materials wherever viable
• Ensuring all electronic equipment is switched off overnight and when not in use
• The printer is kept off when not in use and powersave is used when on
• Print outs are only used when necessary (pdf and email methods preferred)
• Recommend a pdf workflow to reduce unnecessary printing and travel
• Unused or unwanted print outs are re-used as notepaper, and then recycled
• Limit the use of harmful glues, sprays and toxins
• Use energy lighting

But why should a business bother with such green aims? Well aside from the fact that we will all help to ensure a safer, cleaner planet for future generations, it will save costs:
• The reduction of waste, including raw materials, utility use and waste disposal costs
• Increase profits
• Reduce the risk of fines for non-compliance with environmental legislation

Let's all make an effort and do our bit. What are you waiting for?
