Blogs – do creative agencies need a blog?

There's a lot of talk at the minute about blogs. Are they useful? Are there too many? Do they communicate effectively? At Liv Design we try to keep it simple. Our aim was to take a brief and insightful look at what's going on in the world of design, advertising and marketing including any cool bits and pieces we thought you might want to see and news about what we've been up to. Above all we wanted to make it relevant.

However, in the current explosive madness of the 'Web 2.0' revolution there are an increasing number of 'professional bloggers' with whole websites dedicated to the creative industries which are constantly being updated with article upon article. Now we'd love to do that, but it takes an enormous amount of time, energy and dedication. Oh, and money. We'd have to pay someone to do that. And that means someone has to pick up the bill...

We like the in-depth blogs. They're a great source of reference and research. So what do we do? Should we carry on giving brief snippets a couple of times a week, or do we re-evaluate our offering and have a more insightful blog? Or are blogs dead? Is the future in more instant communication mediums like Twitter?

Let us know what you think. Email us at info@liv-design with your comments or vote on the poll on here.
